Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

Nautilus performance is too low. It good appear in open folder with thousand files.
It takes a lot of time, but should - at least 1 second.

See link below, where provided comparing in performance with gnome-commander, double-commander and nautilus.
I believe, that it's issue in code, which takes more cycle that needed.

Nautilus performance in folders with a lot of files is painfully bad. In windows it take miliseconds, while with nautilus it take 20 secs opening folder.

Could someone please attach a folder (compressed as .7z or something) which Files takes 20 secs to open so that others can reproduce the bug?

The bug is old and Ubuntu changed quite a lot since, there has also been no activity here nor similar reports. Closing since we believe the issue as described is deprecated but feel free to file a new report if you still have problems in recent Ubuntu versions.
