Bug Description

Kubuntu Karmic up to date is in use.

Sometimes after desktop switching I notice a task title (on the task manager) from another desktop. Say, desktop 1 has Krusader running, I switch to desktop 4, and Krusader title still exists. After switching to desktop 1 I see... two task titles. After closing the task extra title still exists (on all desktops), but isn't connected to any task. The only way to eliminate this extra title is to restart X.

Just want to add, the issue isn't related with concrete application (Krusader in my example) - it may be, say, KMail, synaptic, ...

After upgrading of a set of workspace/plasma-related packages from suffix ubuntu7 to ubuntu10 I don't see the duplication any more. Not sure what to report in upstream bug.

As far as current Kubuntu packages don't expose the issue (as noted in #5), and, moreover, there are no new reports during all these days, I thing the issue can be marked as fixed.

I just logged another bug (sorry did not see this one) to indicate that this problem is still happening. (see bug 461623) I have attached a part of a screenshot to show the problem I was having after updating another (unrelated) bug on launchpad.

OK, this still happens, but the behaviour seem to be changed in the sense that the closed task that is still showing now sits on the second place on the taskbar (the first place is in that case always empty). See that attached screenshot to see what I mean.

I'm seeing this too and it mainly seems to happen with Firefox. If I load up Firefox, I'll sometimes get 2 icons in the task manager and quitting Firefox leaves 1 icon left which I can't get rid of. I am only running 1 desktop.

That is good new. Have you got any idea when that will appear in the repositories?

Downloaded kde4 update and have the disappointing new that it has not worked. I again have a "dead" item on my taskbar, how ever the first place on the bar is in this case not empty.
