In my opinion most know the command man (else i would suggest to add a tip :-)). Therefor i don't find it a good idea to say "there is a programm for that, read the man page of it". Its better to say there's a programm for that, common used like this...

Therefor my proposed rewrite:
Use the 'watch' command to repeat the same command a regular interval and get helpful datetime output. For example watch -n 1 cat /proc/stat.
