any messages on the console ?
and either provide a crash ID or follow the alternative way for builds that are not from Mozilla.org : https://developer.mozilla.org/en/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_for_a_bug_report

Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Could you please provide a stacktrace?
Please start firefox-3.5 like so:
strace -eopen firefox-3.5 2>&1 | tee /tmp/strace_ff35.log

Please attach /tmp/strace_ff35.log after you reproduce the crash.

Thank you for responding so quickly. Did anything show up on the console when you did the strace? Why did the strace end when Firefox started? It should have ended after you produced the crash, right?

hm.. i just install libraries sudo apt-get install firefox-3.5-dbg \
     xulrunner-1.9.1-dbg \
     libgtk2.0-0-dbg \
     libnss3-1d-dbg \
     libnspr4-0d-dbg \
     libpango1.0-0-dbg \

also this installs libpango1.0-0, libgtk2.0-0, libgail18, libgail-common, gtk2-engines-pixbuf, libc6-i386, libc6

and all works fine.. may be make it are dependencies of firefox?

Seems like you just had a bad install. The appropriate dependencies are set for Firefox 3.5 in Karmic.
