Kate 3.3.0 (KDE 4.3.0) forgets settings and shortcuts concerning the external tools plugin

I created a new Kate session, added LaTeX to the external tools and assigned the shortcut Alt+6 to it. Every time I restart Kate, there is no shortcut assigned to LaTeX anymore, no matter whether I saved the session or not.

If I start Kate without arguments, activate the external tools plugin and assign a shortcut to it, it is deactivated again when I restart Kate (this is not the case if I use a session and save it after activating the plugin, so maybe this behavior is intended). If I activate it again, no shortcut is assigned.

I'm using Karmic Koala and Kate 3.3.0 with KDE 4.3.0.

yes, Kate version 3.3.2 still has this problem. It was there in Jaunty as well. I am happy to help in any way regarding replicating this bug. thanks.

Where can I find the source for kate ( tarball) for the version 3.3.4 ?
