System would not suspend. After leaving the lid down for a couple hours, opening the lid left the backlight on but no system active. I attempted to get to a VT but was not able to. After hard reboot, apport captured this info.

Hi Chris,
I have a similar bug open that has gotten little activity. Perhaps you could try confirming.

I confirm that suspend is broken in Karmic upgraded from Jaunty.

This issue occurs on all intel graphics, not an nVidia system. I believe this might be a slightly different issue. I am concerned that the fix for nVidia may be different than the one for Intel graphics.

My problem was fixed immediately after upgrade to ubuntu's version of rc6.

Hi all,

We'd like to know whether this is still an issue for you. If so, please can you try with last kernel version, (Lucid upstream) which is located on http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.32/?
Thanks in advance.
