Sound fails after reactivation from Sleep/Standby on HP Compaq nc6230

Bug Description

No sound can be heard on internal speakers of HP nc6230 laptop when device wakes from Sleep/Standby mode. No apparent errors in /var/log/messages. Restart required to restore sound.

Note: Sound does become available when system wakes from Hibernation mode.

Sound device: Intel ICH6, Analog Devices AD1981B
Ubuntu Release: Ubuntu 6.06 Beta

Could you please check if the problem persists on the latest Dapper/Edgy-beta ? If so, please let us know what version of the kernel you are currently using.

Problem persists in latest Edgy kernel Linux:
   babygirl 2.6.17-10-386 #2 Fri Oct 13 18:41:40 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux

Per the observation of others in bug #21574, I tried plugging in headphones. Sound does continue working on the headphone jack, while internal speakers do not. Looks like this is a duplicate bug report.
