Upgrading from Ubuntu 5.10 via gksudo (proxy issue?)

Bug Description
after make :
gksudo "update-manager -d"
it is stacked downloadin 2 files, but nothing download. after a while it do nothing an return to the initial windows alerting that there is an upgrade.
this is what i got on the terminal window:

i think it could be something with my proxy.
i always got problems with it.

Thanks for your bugreport.
Do you use a proxy? If so, how is it configured? Is it set in synaptic? Or via the http_proxy environment variable? Or via gnome?
