Bug Description
Since I installed Ubuntu 9.04 I have been many times this kind of error. Ubuntu Complains unclean shutdown after reboot or shutdown. I Have to fsck my /home partion very often after reboot or shutdown. Not always but too often. When I keep my laptop up I don't have any problems. When I shutdown and restart I have to check my /home(sda7) partition and it takes time. Sometimes i have to check my /var(sda5) partition too. Here is my /etc/fstab:
cat /etc/fstab
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# Use 'vol_id --uuid' to print the universally unique identifier for a
# device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name devices
# that works even if disks are added and removed. See fstab(5).
#
# <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
# / was on /dev/sda1 during installation

# /home was on /dev/sda7 during installation

I attached to this message my last fsck check which you can see all errors that I had on my partitions. There is also System check report from Ubuntu System Checkup tool.
My Laptop is LGR500 and I have Seagate 500Gb drive inside. I thought that my problem was broken hard disk but I replaced it to new one. Now I have a new Seagate drive with same problem.

Hi Toni,
This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http:// cdimage. ubuntu. com/releases/ .
If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications- >Accessories- >Terminal) . It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.
apport-collect -p linux 411842
Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https:/ /wiki.ubuntu. com/KernelMainl ineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs- upstream- testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs- upstream- testing' text. Please let us know your results.
Thanks in advance.
