Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

The navigation keys work on all other apps. But on Firefox they have suddenly stopped working. Hitting Page Down merely flashes but does not move down on page. Up and down arrow keys move up to top of page and or down to bottom on one click.

This just developed today. They have worked in the past. The mouse wheel continues to work normally.

Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Sometimes Firefox profiles can become corrupt. Could you please try this with a new profile and see if the problem still exists? You do not need to delete your old profile to test.

Thanks.
I set up a new user and there the keys work fine.

The support material lists how to save and relocate profile folders, and
how to uninstall and install with or without saving the folder, but
nothing about corrupt folders. Is there some way to restore a corrupt
folder and avoid losing all your user data? Or just bite the bullet and
do a clean install and make a gradually rework the data?

Thanks again

You can try to disable any extensions you might have to see if that's it. Otherwise, you can export some of your data (like bookmarks) out of your current profile and import it into the new one.
