Debian menu = menu-xdg installed but doesn't work

Bug Description
i look in Synaptic and the package menu-xdg was mark with green (it was installed) but i haven't the command "update-menus".
Solution:
sudo apt-get install menu menu-xdg <= to reinstall it
update-menus <= make menu
and now the command works and i have to re-login to see the Debian menu.

the "update-menu" should be automatically starts each time a new program is install (maybe starts by synaptic) to refresh the Debian menu.
