Bug Description

Package: webkit

1. Ubuntu 9.10.
2. webkit-1.1.10-1ubuntu1.
3. I expect to be able to open messages in Hotmail inbox.
4. Clicking a message entry has no effect.

* Issue has been reported originally at:
  - https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22633 ,
  - http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=590972 .

* Issue occurs for both midori and epiphany-webkit browsers.
* Major loss of functionality which is significant for epiphany-webkit will be the default browser of GNOME 2.28.

For the current Fedora "rawhide" tree, there is some progress:

- webkitgtk-1.1.14-3.fc12.x86_64 / midori-0.1.10-1.fc12.x86_64 [SUCCESS]
- webkitgtk-1.1.14-3.fc12.x86_64 / epiphany-2.27.92-2.fc12.x86_64 [FAILURE]

Now, if success depends on the frontend, this might finally not be a webkitgtk
issue, might it?

For comparison, the current Ubuntu 9.10 tree:

- libwebkit-1.0-2 (1.1.13-1ubuntu1) / midori-0.1.9-0ubuntu1 [FAILURE]
- libwebkit-1.0-2 (1.1.13-1ubuntu1) / epiphany-webkit-2.27.91-2 [FAILURE]

I have tracked down the issue in more detail on Fedora, and it turns out that all versions of midori later than 0.1.4 will work there correctly in conjunction with webkitgtk version 1.1.10 and later. What happens when you install midori? The webkit version reported in comment #3 appears to be up to date.
As far as epiphany is concerned, I am also forced to use the last xulrunner based version of epiphany which is 2.26.3.

The Lucid version of epiphany-webkit works with Hotmail if you set the user agent ID to Safari.
