Bug Description

Since yesterday I'm experiencing very high CPU peaks in Xorg when idle. For me it's impossible to listen a mp3 with Totem for example or watching correctly a movie. When the peak occurs the music/video/whatever i was doing stops for a second and then go well till the next High Xorg peak.

I know there is another bug related with high xorg cpu usage but i think this is different, this is not that xorg is using always high cpu, it's about the strange high peak/lock af the entire system, look my attachment.

The screenshot that i took shows what i'm trying to explain, rest assured that it was idling.

P.D. Sorry for my english :)

Ubuntu 9.04
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400

Thank you for reporting this bug, however not enough information was included for us to troubleshoot this problem as an X.org issue. If you are still able to reproduce this issue on the current development release and wish to continue the investigation please refer to http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Reporting for guidance on how to report X.org bugs, and file a new bug or reopen this one with additional information.

Also note that high xorg CPU bugs are (ironically) often not caused by Xorg but by a client application driving Xorg inappropriately. For more information on this please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/HighCPU
