Bug Description

I can't run anything that wants to use opengl. It says something about x11 not being configured, or something like that, but it varies depending on the application.

Here are the applications I have the problem on (I have a feeling that there are other applications that I would have the problem on, but I haven't tried them all):
supertux
supertux2
supertuxkart
openarena
torus-trooper
smc
armagetronad
slune

(And here's a list of applications that I would have thought to not work, but they really do):
kobodl
atris
wesnoth
wormux

(all using the version in the repos for ubuntu 9.04)

-------

Okay, so here's the output that is used for the applications:

supertux:
Datadir: /usr/share/games/supertux

Warning: I could not set up fullscreen video for 640x480 mode.
The Simple DirectMedia error that occured was:
X11 driver not configured with OpenGL

Error: I could not set up video for 640x480 mode.

Invalid axis '2' in axismap
Fatal: Unexpected exception: Couldn't set video mode (800x600-0bpp): X11 driver not configured with OpenGL

supertuxkart:

torus-trooper:

You get the idea. (If you need the output of a specific application that I haven't listed, ask me for it).

--------

Okay, if it helps you any, I am using an Nvidea card, with the proprietary drivers that you can get from System -> Administration -> Hardware Drivers. Nvidea accelerated graphics driver (version 96). I am using ubuntu 9.04, with all of the latest updates.

Thank you.

Are you using desktop effects if so turn them off, and try again.
If it still doesn't work please attach your X server configuration file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) and X server log file (/var/log/Xorg.0.log) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file attachments using the "Attachment:" box below. Could you please also try to run without any /etc/X11/xorg.conf and let Xorg autodetect your display and video card? Please also attach the /var/log/Xorg.0.log from this attempt. Thanks in advance.

No, I am not using desktop effects.

Also, I tried to let xord autodetect my display, but when it went into low graphics mode, and I clicked on autodetect settings, it just re-popped up the box again. In the end, I had to put the original xorg.conf file back. Here is teh file.

And it seams like I can only attach on file per comment, so here is the xorg log file.

Right, well, it seams like no one else is experiencing this, and I want to reload my computer anyway, so I am just going to install the alpha version of 9.10, and I doubt the bugs will still be there (actually, they may just appear back in a few months for no obvious (to me anyway) reason).

Thank you anyway.
