Bug Description

Eddy Lambert at Oxfam reported:

"""
Losing linebreaks on wiki edits. Can't space things properly and end up with tight, undifferentiated content as a result. See this for example:

  http://kdi01.sixfeetup.com/communities/uk-campaigns-for-all-project-group/wiki/front_page/
I added 4 paragraphs or lorem ipsum text to illustrate the problem - all joined in one big block of text. Does not affect blog editor.
"""

I replied with:

"""
Hi Eddy, sorry to bug you, but wanted to follow up on this:

1) Was this a new page or a migrated page that you started editing?

2) Was this text that you pasted from another application, or text that you created from scratch in the editor?

I tried to recreate the problem but was unable. Here is a recording of my session:

  http://screencast.com/t/yc1rPXjQ

Can you spot anything that you did differently?

I just tried giving your page an edit and say that my changes behaved the same as you reported. Though I don't know exactly how your page got into that state, I do think it is enough to get started on from our side.
"""

When looking at the HTML source, it seems a little dodgy. There isn't a wrapper element. And everything in it is <div> based. I don't know if a <div> in TinyMCE makes the next element a <div> instead of a <p>.

Derek, you'll probably need an admin login to get at this. Scheduling for next week.

I agree with the analysis by Balazs. If we are pasting in a <div> it should be formatted like a <div>. The only question will then be if there should be a feature enhancement to style the <div> with some margin-top/bottom.
