You will need to try the very latest iso's to get the correct
linux-restricted-modules for your card.

im using the iso release on april 20th

should i be using the flight 6?

No, Flight 6 is older than Beta. The necessary packages were just released today (Sunday), so you'll need to test tomorrow's daily iso.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Thanks in advance.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, this bug is a duplicate of bug 87244 and is being marked as such. Feel free to submit any future bugs you may find. The ati x1400 should work with the fglrx driver, but not the radeon driver at the moment. You can learn more in bug 87244.

Launchpad Janitor (janitor) wrote : This bug is now reported against the 'linux' package

Beginning with the Hardy Heron 8.04 development cycle, all open Ubuntu kernel bugs need to be reported against the "linux" kernel package. We are automatically migrating this linux-source-2.6.15 kernel bug to the new "linux" package. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make this transition. Also, if you would be interested in testing the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release, it is available at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing . Please let us know your results. Thanks!
