Bug Description
I do understand Thunderbird is not maintained by Canonical ,
But kindly consider adding Thunderbird to the indicator applet.

The messaging menu doesn't need to do anything to add support for Thunderbird. They have everything that they need to be able to do it. I might look at doing the patch sometime, but the feature shouldn't be recorded against the indicator-applet project.
