Bug Description

With Karmic, suspend no longer works. I've tried with 2.6.31-4-generic and 2.6.31-5-generic, with the current nvidia driver (185.18.14-0ubuntu3) as well as the newer 190 series driver (190.18-0ubuntu1~karmic~ppa2).

The symptom is that it appears ready to suspend, but the moon (sleep) LED starts blinking and never stops. The system appears unresponsive, and requires a hard power stop.

I am attaching pm-suspend.log. Please advise what else I can do to help provide diagnostic information.

The system finally got around, this morning, to generating its reports for the failures. I have posted Bug 408849, Bug 408850, and Bug 408851 to provide the raw data, and then marked them duplicates of this bug.

Fully updated to 2.6.31-8-generic, nvidia 185.18.36, etc., suspend and resume are once again working.

I have made a fresh installation of 9.10 (AMD64) with all available updates, on 20.10.2009 and this issue is still present. My experience is that suspend works from GDM, but when I log in into a Gnome session, suspend fails with the described behavior. I tried almost all scenarios with and without nVidia driver (currently 185.18.36).
