Bug Description
Binary package hint: ubiquity
Karmic Koala Alpha3. Installer crashed while installing GRUB. I think it was looking for other operating systems at the time. Actually, every installer has done this for a couple of years or more on my system. I suspect it may be because I have one / partition housed on JFS. Here is my fdisk -l:
Disk /dev/sda: 160.0 GB, 160041885696 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 19457 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

GRUB was in fact succesfully installed (using sda6 as root), but didn't list sda5 as an operating system option.
I was able to boot and edit brub.cfg by hand to add the sda5 boot option.
If you can reproduce this, please attach /var/log/syslog.
