Bug Description

Binary package hint: thunderbird

This crash occurred while browsing an email in a preview pane. Upon scrolling down the email either using the scroll down function on the trackpad or using the down arrow key Thunderbird crashes. Only occurs on two messages that I can see so far. Both are forwarded messages with attachments, one a .doc and the second a .gif. Both located in a subdirectory from the Inbox.

Thank you taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, processing the crash report to get detailed information for the developers failed as the retracer did not generate a useful symbolic stack trace.
Please try to obtain a backtrace manually following the instructions at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and upload the backtrace (as an attachment) to the bug report. This will greatly help us in tracking down your problem.

You can also try the latest version of Thunderbird for your release (2.0.0.23).

I found that this crash occurred due to improperly installed fonts that Thunderbird attempted to render. Once I deleted the offending fonts, the problem disappeared.
