Bug Description

Binary package hint: bugzilla

On a stock bugzilla3 install, I notice I'm getting more cronjob emails than desired. E.g.:

  Subject: Anacron job 'cron.daily' on chideok

  /etc/cron.daily/bugzilla3:
  <email address hidden> 1

I think this appears to be caused by this line in whineatnews.pl

      print "$email " . join(" ", @{$bugs{$email}}) . "\n";

I've commented this line out for my own purposes, but perhaps it could be solved more elegantly with a debug flag or some such.

Hi Bryce,

this is a feature of bugzilla. Go to /bugzilla3/editparams.cgi?section=mta#whinedays and set whinedays to 0 in order to disable whining you.

Greetings,
Raphael

I know this is configurable, my suggestion is that the default setting makes the application less pleasant to use.

Anyway, I ended up uninstalling bugzilla so this bug report can be closed if you don't feel it worthwhile to adjust the defaults on ubuntu.
