The DVB application in Totem works fine, but I prefer ME TV as my DVB application program.

Is there a newer Version of ME TV for Hardy?
I want to stay with Hardy and ME TV until the next new LTS version.

Thank you all for your great Engagement for ME TV.

Hi.. I'm just looking into the prospect of seeing if the current stable
version (0.10.3) can be back ported to satisfy Hardy... I did attempt
this some months back and found that the differences were too great for
me to fully understand what would be required to make this work (if this
is possible!)

As you would be aware Me TV relies heavily on other packages to
function, and I'm assuming that there has been a package that has
recently been updated that may have broken the functionality of Me TV
for you! I'm currently downloading an ISO for 8.04.3 LTS to install in a
VM to do some testing... the latest version of series 5 I got to work on
Hardy was Me TV 0.5.33 how ever I did need to enable Hardy-proposed &
Hardy-backports to achieve this, you may wish to investigate if there
would be any ill effect of doing this on your Hardy Install prior to
enabling these two repositories.

I'll get back to ASAP about the possibility of a backported version to
Hardy...

Hi Scott,

thank you for your fast reply.

I too assume that the reason ist a package that has recently been updated and maybe now have broken the functionality of Me TV Version: 0.5.17 in Hardy Heron.

I would be very happy about the possibility of a backported version to Hardy. :-)
Let me know if you have any other issues.

In the interim I use Totem as a substitute.;-)

I've unfortunately come to the conclusion that there is just too much diversion between Hardy & Jaunty in respect to GTK and similar dependencies. It is not wise to attempt to update the main core versions as it will no doubt break your ubuntu. I realise that Hardy is a LTS but in this case it just isn't possible to backport Me TV (current development) to Hardy.

The only feasible option would be to upgrade to jaunty, however you may have good reason not to do this!

I'm sorry that I couldn't achieve a suitable outcome for you...
