Bug Description
Binary package hint: update-manager
Upgrading from Jaunty to Karmic release install kernel 2.6.31.4 package but in grub registry still appear old versions that I had in jaunty (2.6.28-13), synaptic said that I have been installed new kernel version but I think some script don't refresh grub entries.
Steps to reproduce this:
1) Have ubuntu Jaunty
2) Upgrade to Karmic
3) Reboot your computer and look grub menu, haven't any entry for kernel 2.6.31.4
4) Check your installed packages (look for kernel package , if is installed)
Behavior that I Expected
* Install a grub entry for kernel 2.6.31.4 version and boot from that version, not old ones.

I have heard a report of this happening but it is obviously not biting systems consistently. The problem must be triggered by something specific on the system. I know it's been a while but please archive the following directory and attach it to the bug (dist-upgrade. tar.gz) :
/var/log/ dist-upgrade
