Bug Description

Can be reproduced via gconf-tool: '/apps/nautilus/preferences/show_desktop' uncheck the mark, then more and more nautiluses will appear on the bottom panel.

Ubuntu Karmic Alpha 3 with latest updates:
nautilus 2.27.4-0ubuntu3
gconf-editor 2.26.0-1ubuntu1
