Bug Description
Well,I was installing Ubuntu(GNOME) Karmic Alpha 3 when I did a few back and forths from step 8 to the partitioning screen(partitioning manually) because of confusion as to which partitions are being formatted. After confirming to my satisfaction that everything was appropriately allotted to be formatted(and not),I introduced a underscore in my username, clicked Forward, and repeated alerts of "Invalid username The username you entered is invalid. Note that usernames must start with a lower-case letter, which can be followed by any combination of numbers and more lower-case letters" pop up as soon as I click Ok on the previous alert. As a result,I can't fix the invalid username, since focus is given to the never ending alert boxes.
EDIT: Used xkill to get rid of Ubiquity.

Happened to me today installing Ubuntu 9.10. Had to hit the power button. Wasn't using any of the advanced partition options, just had an underscore in my name.
