Bug Description

I'm running Dapper flight 6 + updates on an MSI K8T Master2-FAR 2GB

There seems to have been an oops during today's update:-

The oops is a bit hard to read because of launchpad's wrapping - if it it had been uploaded as a text attachment using the add attachment link at the left this would have been better.

I could be wrong but it looks like the crash was while the kernel was syncing buffers to disk?

Have you tried running some hardware diagnostics on your machine?

Yes. memtest (though not run since experiencing these particular problems, but run fairly recently) has shown nothing. Smartmontools shows nothing. The machine had a new power supply last summer and runs off an UPS.

Your oopses show the kernel has been tainted by loading proprietary modules. Can you reproduce without the nvidia module loaded?

I can confirm same bug, reproduced, only thing we have in common is the nvidia driver (which i removed rmmod) and VIA chipsets.

It's very old. I'm now using 7.10 on different hardware.
