Bug Description

When using Mint 7 Main edition, regardless of the version. Both 32 and 64bit versions I experience the following problem. After installing and running the system, between 5 and 12 hours I start to get constant drops in my wireless connection. The drops are immedialtely reconnected. I am using the Broadcom BCM 4322 chipset and running the STA driver. I have done a little testing my self in order to try and reporduce the problem and have reinstalled Mint 7 both 32bit and 64bit editions several times and this always happens. I have also tried the KDE versions and this problem does not occur there. The problem is also not specific to the Network Manager as I have tried using WICD and still experience the problem. Also the problem does not happen when using Mint 6.

You mention Jaunty in the title, but not the description, can you confirm this occurs on stock ubuntu Jaunty?

Yea thats my bad, I meant to remove that from the title. This occurs on LinuxMint 7 both 32 and 64bit editions as well as Jaunty 64bit version.

However, as I am currently only using Mint 6 and 7 that is what this post was for. The Mint 7 version Main edition with Gnome desktop.

You can disregard the Jaunty in the title altough it does happen it it also.

Actually it's important that you know it affects Jaunty too, so I've left it in there. Seeing as you provided enough debugging detail (at least for now), I've forwarded the issue upstream, even though I haven't heard any confirmation. If anyone else can confirm this please let us know.

I'm running 10.04 NBR on a dell mini-10 and have pretty much this problem, although automatic reconnection is pretty rare. I find that manually disconnecting after connection is lost, waiting 5 seconds, and manually reselecting is far more succesfull

from lspci:
03:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4322 802.11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller (rev 01)

From the drivers tool:
broadcom STA proprietary driver

The problem appears worse when the number of available networks is varying.

I've thrown the machine away now and bought an iPad. That seems to work. So I am no longer interested.
