restart (also using reset button) needs about 3 minutes

1. KUbuntu Karmic (same PC and OS as of bug #406980
2. Package: don't know
3. Same behavior as Ubuntu 9.04: when OS has been shut down and PC starts again - after few second GRUB-Menu
4. After a "cold" start it happens as expected (I user several OS on the PC: Windows, Kubuntu8.04, 9.04 - and since some days karmic) - some seconds after start I get the Grub Menu to select the OS. When I have selected Karmic and select reboot, System shuts down and after beginning the restart process it takes more than 2 minutes to show GRUB-menu.
Now it doesn't matter which OS I select - restarting the systen shows thge same bahavior - even when I shut off the sytem and restart it short after switch-off by using the power button.

When possible, never use the switch off button, risks of serious damage at Hard Disk are concrete.
As this bug is not reproducible by me, can you tell me if it still afflicting your system with the latest updated packages of Lucid ?

This bug is no longer relevant for me as I killed the motherboard - this
happened before Lucid.
The bug only occurred on that machine. May be of interest that the first
IDE was connected with the boot-HDD as master and a ROM-Drive as slave.
The PC was an Medion Titanim MD8083 XL with Motherboard MD 8088 and
Intel Pentium 4 Processor.
