The MIR needs to be corrected: django does have a testsuite ("tests" directory). Given it's low CVE history, inclusion of FastCGI examples, and general good design, if the packaging was updated to use the testsuite and fail the build on a failure, I would accept this for main.

I believe that the easiest way to enable testsuite would be to ship a dummy project in debian/ directory that will provide settings for runtests.py script. I'll send an email to debian maintainer and see if we can do it in Debian and not create local delta. Regardless of his answer I volunteer to work on that if that's fine with others.

A new revision of python-django (1.1-2) has been uploaded and it enables test suite on build.

It failed to build because our buildd has no access to the internet. I'll have to disable one of the regression tests.

Also, if there's someone within Ubuntu who'd like to be on our security notification list (our policy for security issues is to disclose issue + patches to distros one week prior to public disclosure and releases), let me know and I'll set that up.
