Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-mplayer

gnome-mplayer 0.9.6-1 in Karmic does not associate any media mimetypes, like e.g. gmplayer does. This can be easily solved by using modified /usr/lib/mime/packages/mplayer file from mplayer package.

Er ... so if this is fixed, why is Kubuntu Karmic still refusing to install gecko-mediaplayer and claiming broken dependencies? Apt reports that only gnome-mplayer 0.9.6 is available when gecko-mediaplayer requires gnome-mplayer >= 0.9.7.
