Bug Description

Ubuntu karmic Alpha 3

network-manager-gnome:
  Installed: 0.7.1-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 0.7.1-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 0.7.1-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

The nm-applet doesn't appear to be able to get the current speed for an ath9k wireless connection. Speed is always 'unknown'.

Release 9.10 (karmic) 64bit
Kernel 2.6.31-17-generic
GNOME 2.28.1
Using Atheros AR5008 Wireless 802.11N 300MBPS Mini PCI

Applet displays speed as unknown most of the time and sometimes displays 1MB/s

I know the wireless card is running faster than that as I can get up to 45mb download from speedtest.net

Upgraded from my previous 802.11g Atheros card which did display speed correctly using ath5k driver.
