Please can you post a list of steps to reproduce this problem, as well as the version of thunderbird (from Help->About Thunderbird). This should help the developers reproduce the problem you are having.

It's thunderbird 2.0.0.22 version
First, I enter password for my pop and smtp when thunderbird asks (i also mark "Use password manager to remember this password")
Until i close thunderbird everything works fine (automatic check every 10 min without password ask)
Next time i load thunderbird it asks for password again

Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.

You made this bug report in 2009 and there have been several versions of Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect 404908

and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
