Bug Description

Binary package hint: gwibber

Some users complain about Gwibber's asking for the GNOME keyring password. I was among them until I realized what it was for.

This seems to be unjustified because GNOME keyring just shows the app location gibberish. If asking for the password tells the user that it's because Gwibber is accessing the saved username and password of the user's microblogging accounts, the user would understand why the password is being asked.

IHi Allan,

I agree with your reasoning but I'm not sure if a package (e.g. gwibber) can tell the keyring what information to display.
So let the devvers have a look at this. IMO this is more like a WhishList topic than a bug.

Greetings

gwibber uses gnome-keyring and the keyring needs to be unlocked that's not a bug, the wording not being optimal is a known issue
