Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-utils

Ubuntu
Release 9.04 (jaunty)
Kernel Linux 2.6.28-11-generic
GNOME 2.26.1
Synaptic 0.62.5
system.kernel.machine x86_64
My Hardware:
Memory 4 Gg
Quad-Core Processor AMD PHENOM 9950
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-MA78G-DS3H
Hard Drives Seagate ST31500341AS 1,5 TB and ST3500320AS 500Gig

I have updated the Motherboard Firmware problem persists. The Hard Drives are set on BIOS as AHCI tried also as Native IDE, problem persists anyway. Same Issue working with Windows Vista and XP.

Hard Drives hung after a few minutes start, just using a simple file or when they are required to manage heavy load (move heavy files from one HD to the other). It is necessary to reset the computer again to free the HD. Now using Live CD Ubuntu version.

I attach Log.

Could you help me with that bug?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:

apport-collect 404704

This will help us to find and resolve the problem. Bear in mind that you may need to install the python-launchpadlib package from the universe repository. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability to "Change Non-Private" data as it will be adding information to your bug report. Thanks in advance!

Ok, the last try didn't add much, can anyone still experiencing this issue please try this command:

apport-collect -p linux-image-`uname -r` 404704

Bear in mind that you may need to install the python-launchpadlib package from the universe repository with 'sudo apt-get install python-launchpadlib'. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability to "Change Non-Private" data as it will be adding information to your bug report.

If you cannot use apport please at least add the following information (pay attention to lspci's additional options):
First run the following commands:
1) uname -a > uname-a.log
2) dmesg > dmesg.log
3) sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log
4) cat /proc/version_signature > version.log
then attach the files separately to the bug report (not pasted into comments or tar/zip-ed).

For your reference, the full description of procedures for kernel-related bug reports is available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/KernelTeamBugPolicies. Thanks in advance!
