cannot upload new or delete old podcasts on iPod

Bug Description

New podcasts are displayed in "Podcasts", but when using drag&drop to transfer them to the iPod, nothing is being transfered.
Likewise, theres a Podcast subentry below the ipod icon, but it has no contents.
Yet, the iPod still contains 8 old podcasts, which have not been deleted.

It seems rhythmbox and the iPod are somehow out of sync.

This bug also effects me. I can usually erase a podcast after several tries, but if & when I transfer a new podcast it more often than not shows up under the Music>Artists directory and not the Podcast directory. There is something wrong with the way rhythmbox is parsing the iTUNEdb.

I don't know how to query the filesystem on the iPOD.

could you try with Ubuntu-10.10 to check if the issue is still there so that we could send this issue to the people writing this software.

Don't use iPOD anymore - switched to Cowon iAUDIO 7

Also, I'm using Karmic, not MAverick.
