From this page: http://www.wbur.org/listen I click the link for ogg vorbis, which is: http://www.wbur.org/wp-content/themes/wbur/live_stream/ogg.m3u . After doing so the browser crashes.

Well, I guess the issue was with mozilla-mplayer. I found that it was set up to handle m3u files, and after uninstalling it, firefox now asks which application I would like to open m3u's with.

Closing my own bug as invalid, bug seems to be in the unmaintained package mozilla-mplayer (thanks for the tip Ari).
