Hi Matthias!

Can you take a look at this upstream bug report and see if that is the same problem as yours?

well I downloaded now the firefox 3.5.1 from http://www.mozilla-europe.org/de/firefox/ and there is the same problem

than I used the firefox 3.6 alpha, and there it works:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2a1pre) Gecko/20090723 Ubuntu/9.04 (jaunty) Minefield/3.6a1pre

I am not sure it is the same bug, because it is not a problem of wrong colors, its the complete inverted image

by the way I'm using a Samsung T260 Widescreen monitor 1920x1200

Do you have an ATI video card? Could you please look at bug 386132 and let us know if that is the same issue?

Thanks.

yes I have an ATI card: Radeon HD 4650
as described in the bug 386132 the problem should be fixed with 8.620, so I installed the newest drivers 8.63.2 from
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx
as described in the ubuntu wiki (http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Grafikkarten/ATI/fglrx/Manuelle_Treiberinstallation)

but it doesn't work

it might be the bug christian mentioned earlier: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=497363
just that the colors are completely changed and not that slightly like in the attached screenshot of that bug
It just looks like an inverted image on my system but it isn't a real inverted image (I tryied it with gimp: and an inverted image looks different than the image displayed by firefox-3.5) --> just the colors are totally wrong

well but I don't know how to verify if it is really that bug, all I know is that firefox 3.6a1pre and firefox 3.0 do not have the problem

and we are speaking of JPEGs and not PNGs

I have been experiencing the same problem, in the attachment the image on the left is from Firefox 3.5.1 and the image on the right is the same file opened in The Eye of Gnome.

Changing

gfx.color_management.mode

in about:config to 0 seems to fix the problem, it is set to 2 by default.

thanks a lot, it worked!

gfx.color_management.mode was set to 2 and after setting it to 0 and a restart it worked
