Bug Description
I have a Gigabyte Motheboard GA-G33M-DS2R, a Vertex-SSD-30GB and two Western Digital RE3 320GB disk.
I must install the '/' in Vertex and the /home in a RAID volume with the two WD RE3.
I have try to install Karmic with Alternate CD but at the stage of disk partition the installer freezes.
I noticed the same problem with AHCI mode too. But if I disable in the bios the AHCI mode or RAID mode, the installer works fine.
Ultimately the installer works only in IDE mode.

I noticed the problem persist also without SSD.
If I use only the two Western Digital RE3 the installer not recognizes the
disks or freezes.
Instead with live cd iso and AHCI mode enabled the hard disks are recognized
without problem (also SSD).
On my Vertex I use 1.3 firmware (at the moment is the last).
