Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

I followed the wiki to enable shmconfig, and running synclient -m 100 the value under f (number of fingers) is always 1 weather I use one, two or three fingers. Which is a pity because it's multitouch under xp with even pinch gestures working. I'd be happy just to get 2 fingered middle click working.

What distribution? What package version? Need alot more info here... Note that AOA-D150's do not have a multitouch capable touchpads, but you can enable fake multitouch for it. The method to do so varies greatly depending on your xserver-xorg-input-synaptics version though. SHMConfig is outdated, and depending on your package version might not even work anymore.

I'm on UNR 9.04 xserver-xorg-input-synaptics version is 0.99.3-2ubuntu5. I'm running a 2.6.30 kernel from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.30/ to solve sound issues.

I own a AAO D150-1b. I just assumed that the touchpad was multi cause I tested it in win XP and will even accept gestures.

I sort of gathered that SHMConfig might have been going the way of the Dodo, but I didn't manage to find a better solution.

I hope you can help me.

TIA,

Matt

Also upload the output of synclient -m 100 >~/synclient.txt depicting the middle button click and also describe how you do it physically ie How to reproduce it on the touchpad...

If possible also upload a photograph of your touchpad..

Hi Gursmiran,
sorry it took me so long to answer, I didn't receive your previous messages via mail ...
By 2 fingered middle click I mean hitting the touchpad with 2 fingers at the same time, like one does to left click, but with 2 fingers (I think right click is attained hitting the pad with 3 fingers).
I attached the required files, the command xinput did not recognize the option --long on my system. The synclient file contains data of me repeatedly hitting the pad with 2 fingers at the same time. The details of my system haven't changed (why upgrade something that's working) and are described above.
Thank you for trying to fix this.

If you need anything else please let me know.

TIA,

Matt
