Bug Description

I use Thunderbird with ubuntu 9.10 and XP. In Ubuntu Thunderbird asked to create a new account while it worked correct with Windows. The profiles.ini was correct. I uninstalled Thunderbird, reinstalled it and created the accounts again with the path to the old emails. Then it worked again.
I used Thunderbird for over 6 months without trouble before.
Ubuntu 9.10 with 2.6.28-13 and Thunderbird 2.0.0.22 is used.

No, I can't reproduce this. It happened once within more than 6 months. I don't know what caused this.
I could imagine it could have been caused by a bad connection to my USB harddisk (my Thunderbird emails are stored on a USB harddisk). Perhaps this corrupted a file. I had some connection problems during the last few weeks. It's a Seagate Free Agent Go USB harddisk.

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test the current Ubuntu version (10.10). If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #>, and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
