Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

On this page : http://www.multicast.org.uk/absoluteradio/
click the IPv6 link for Absolute Radio ( http://www.multicast.org.uk/absoluteradio/aruk-ar-ipv6.sdp )
and in dialog chose open with Movie Player.

A second after totem appears, its window disappears.

Before that I tried the IPv4 link and that asked to install additional codecs ("gstreamer bad" or similar).

Just a note.

This is reproducible simply.
I tried on another PC, another ISP, up-to-date Ubuntu 9.04, default options, just IPv4 connectivity.

There is no dbgsym package for totem, so I did two tries: once with totem-dbg and then totem-gstreamer-dbgsym (they exclude each other).

OK, this is evil.
If start it like this:
G_SLICE=always-malloc G_DEBUG=gc-friendly valgrind -v --tool=memcheck --leak-check=full --num-callers=40 --log-file=valgrind.log /usr/bin/totem file:///tmp/aruk-ar-ipv6-2.sdp

then it does not crash !?

the log is attached

The issue is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)
