Bug Description

Binary package hint: listen

Hello,

on Xubuntu jaunty the "Listen" Player fails to play MP3 files (while it works in Totem).

FLac, m4a und Videos from YouTube work. But MP3 files are not listed in the library and cannot be drag&dropped from the file manager (Thunar) into the play list.

(Installing gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3 has not solved the problem.)

Changed in listen (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed

Installing "gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly" has solved the problem.

But the question remains why Listen requires this package for playing MP3 while Totem doesn't need it.

(And if really needed, it should be automatically requested for installation when trying to play an MP3 the first time.)
