Bug Description

Binary package hint: thunderbird

The position of the mouse and the cursor position don't always match in Karmic Thunderbird when moving a message. Please take a look at the attached screenshots. It looks like in the upper part of a window there is no discrepancy, but when moving the mouse down it jumps back to the topmost folder and then there is a delta when moving down. This is a regression from Jaunty.

I have the following add-ons installed:
* Lightning 0.9
* Virtual Identity 0.6.0pre1
* Timezone definitions for Mozilla Calendar 0.1.2008d

It doesn't look like an issue with the add-ons, though. I was able to reproduce this problem with a newly created profile and disabled add-ons.

I can confirm this bug in:

thunderbird:
  Installed: 2.0.0.22+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 2.0.0.22+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 2.0.0.22+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu2 0
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

This is very annoying when moving messages.

For me, this is reproducible 100% of the time, completely irrespective or CPU or memory load.

This is not a bug in thunderbird, but a bug in gtk2.0 and has already been reported.

I am marking this one as duplicate of bug 398540
