Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-evdev

When I install Jaunty on my Zonbu nettop (essentially an eBox-4854) the cursor isn't drawn on the screen. The cursor does move but I have to enable the accessibility feature that highlights the cursor position when you press ctrl to let me even able to some what reasonably navigate the desktop.

The input device is a Logitech Trackman Wheel USB, it works just fine with my laptop but on the Zonbu hardware the cursor problem is present (perhaps a video driver issue rather than evdev?)

This is very disturbing in part of the desktop workflow.

reassigning to openchrome

adding Option "SWcursor" "true"

to xorg.conf brings back a working cursor solution.

affects: xserver-xorg-input-evdev (Ubuntu) → xserver-xorg-video-openchrome (Ubuntu)

Do you use dual head mode (two screens)?

The problem with cursor on dual head was solved in latest openchrome release.

Please build/install the latest openchrome driver, enable debug mode and check if this bug exists in this revision.

The openchrome driver detects two screens:
  (II) CHROME(0): ViaOutputsSelect: CRT.
  (II) CHROME(0): ViaOutputsSelect: Panel.

The latest openchrome revision should help.

Try add the Option "ForcePanel" to your xorg.conf file

Tested with SVN rev. 758 and it fixes this without the requirement to add either option.
