Bug Description

When I print a document, the document gets send to the printer. When this communication is completed I am presented with a notification telling me that the printing is done. This is, however, not true. Only the communication between my compute and the printer (or print server) is completed. Thus, I cannot use the information as an indication that my paper-copy is ready.

I would suggest that either

  * the notification is displayed when the actual paper-copy is ready to be picked up, or
  * the notification gets removed.

In system-config-printer the notifications for socket, ipp, http and smb URI have once been removed but they have been reinstated with a different text now: "Document `%s' has finished printing on `%s'." has been changed to "Document `%s' has been sent to `%s' for printing." See upstream bug: https://fedorahosted.org/system-config-printer/ticket/181
This is available since system-config-printer 1.1.90, so lucid or higher should be ok.
Therefore I'm closing this bug report.
