fontinstall dont work systemsettings

If i want to install a font in KUbuntu over the Systemsettings and systemwide, the passworddialog popup but the sudo password dont work. i have tested this with Kubuntu 8.10, 9.04 and 9.10Alpha.

I can confirm this running Karmic with KDE SC 4.4.

To reproduce:
1) Start Font Installer (either via systemsettings, krunner, konsole, kmenu....)
2) Add a font (either .otf or .ttf) try to install it systemwide

You'll get an error message saying "Failed to start the system daemon".

Starting the settings module from command line (kcmshell4 fontinst), the respective lines are:
