No sound comes for any file, while the files play well in VLC

Binary package hint: totem

When ever I try to play some media files into totem ,if it is a video, It comes but no audio. And same with audio files all of them (avi,mp4,3gp,mp3,ogg,wav) There is no option for sound control also

Check the volume indicator (speaker icon/button) on the lower-right of Totem. Is it muted? Totem sometimes will start with the sound level at 0.
