Bug Description

Following on from bug 400215, it would be nice if when someone says "Can you look at proposal 1234" I can immediately type a URL to get to that proposal, as I can when someone mentions bug 1, without needing to know what branch it's connected to.

(This is assuming that numbers are globally unique; if not I suppose this bug is also asking that they should be.)

This would also make it more consistent with Launchpad Bugs.

You could do it, as for bugs, by having http://launchpad.net/proposal/%d redirect to the right place. (I actually don't find the bugs redirecter really great because I can never remember if there's a plus or not, if it's 'bugs' or 'bug' or if it's on the launchpad.net 2ld or on bugs.launchpad.net, and you have to get all those factors right to avoid a 404.)

So my suggestion would be that http://launchpad.net/+proposal/%d redirects you.

This of course also enables people to set up browser keywords, gnome do, etc to get there.

No one has _ever_ said that to me. I honestly do not think it's a good idea to encourage thinking of merge proposals based on a numeric ID.

Torn between marking this as a wishlist item and marking it wontfix. Doing the latter because I feel its more honest. Please feel free to reopen it.
