Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

This is reproducible for me, any time I try to open mms://209.73.191.60/md2enc044?StreamID=79597343 in totem, which is streaming wmv of NASA TV. It used to work. VLC still handles it fine.

The failed retrace thing doesn't look like fun. I installed the libmms0-dbgsym, gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-dbgsym & libgstreamer0.10-0-dbgsym packages and got a backtrace from gdb, which I'm attaching.

Totem frequently did not crash when run under gdb; I had to rerun it several times before the crash happened. If totem will sometimes run w/o crashing in the absence of gdb, I haven't seen it yet -- i.e. it crashes consistently.

I was able to get totem to play the NASA wmv stream after many crashes. So: it does work sometimes without gdb. It definitely appears to be timing-related.

Here is another backtrace of the same problem with the only difference that the application is rhythmbox (the same actually happens to any gstreamer-based application, for example Listen). I can constantly reproduce the crash by starting/stopping the playback of the specified mms stream (see the backtrace) 2-4 times in a row.
