Bug Description

Binary package hint: empathy

While empathy doesn't have a chat window (in this case salut talking to bonjour on jaunty pidgin) open notify-osd displays everything that is typed on the jaunty computer. However once I open the chat window even if it isn't the selected window all that happens is the button on the bottom task bar flashes orange. Notify-osd is no-longer used.

I'm not sure if this should be fixed in empathy or notify-osd or if there is anything to fix. But it doesn't feel as well integrated as pidgin is at the moment.

Tested using 20090715 ubuntu i386 updated on the 16th

I deleted the second panel with the taskbar (using gnome-do docky insteed), so I only see a jumping icon if I got a new message. Sometimes chat partner are offended when I don't write back :(

That's rather an issue of empathy then notify-osd. notify-osd just takes whatever it gets sent from applications. If an app doesn't send a notification, notify-osd of course doesn't display anything.

This bug is quite old, and I can't reproduce it on Maverick. Can you test on 10.04 or 10.10? Thanks!
